I was offered a opportunity to go to HEC-TV to be an assistant stage manager. At first I was very hesitant about taking on the job because it was new to me. When I arrived HEC-TV studio I was prepared to do my job as assistance stage manager. I was introduced to Tim and Jackie, also the other people apart of the show, and the food! There is a full wall of awards, I even got to hold an Emmy award and take a picture. When it was about 8:15 we went into the studio to film the first show. I was asked if I could run the camera and ill be honest my heart dropped, I was extremely scared I would mess everything up. Before the show cameras stopped working and there was so much chaos. Then I began to here the director through the headset, I was confused with some of the words they used but I caught on quick. I moved the camera I was operating back and forth from a closeup of the host to a wide shot of the guest, pretty simple. After a while of recording, I took a break and greeted the guest. It was meeting and hearing these great people. I enjoyed meeting Judge Nannette Baker and Mary Beth Tinker because they're such intelligent, hardworking, and kind women. HEC-TV gave us a little bag of gifts as a thank you. It was a long eight hours but very worth it. Im am so happy and grateful I got to professional experience working the camera for a live show. Thank you HEC-TV!
